Hello my Emily Love.

I write this to you with a heavy heart.

My love. I don’t know if I’ll be able to hold you when I get to Gliese, but if I don’t, I hope you’ll know that I did everything possible to get that chance. I can’t believe it’s been over three years since I’ve kissed your lips – felt your touch. Trust me, my love. I’m trying my darndest to get back to you. There’s something happening aboard the ship, my love. That’s all I’m allowed to tell you. I’m trying to contain it. If I cannot, just know that I tried my best.

I love you. Tell our little ones I did my best as well. Will you please do that for me as well?

Will.

***VOICE TO TEXT***

Sir,

All voice Coms seem to be down at the moment, so we’ll be sending updates via text data systems. Since you left the deck, there’s been some seriously crazy developments with the passengers. Some of the cocoons (if that’s what they are) opened in the pods and we see claws scratching against the insides of the glass. Search parties still haven’t been able to locate the Chief, or Sergeant Brooke, or the missing passenger, but they must be on board. We’ve concentrated our search to the cargo-bay.

Corporal Smith crushed an aluminum oil can and cut his finger. Every pod in the place started going crazy. I’m telling you sir, it was nuts. I’m beginning to think we should all pile into the lifeboat and (or as many as can fit) and abandon ship. I know it’s against your directive, but sir…think about it. This is nothing like you’ve ever thought would happen. In stasis, at least we could save half the crew.

We’ll continue to search for the missing crew members and the civilian (though, I may be inclined to shoot that fucker).

Reynolds out.

Sir!

I think we’ve found the missing passenger! But he’s not a fucking human, sir (excuse my François). Seriously, sir. This guy has more than one set of fucking arms! He has fangs, like a motherfucking spider and he’s vicious as fuck! He’s taken out a few of our men already. We’re going to need more people down here – like now! I repeat – send more fucking men…now!

Out!

We’re coming, Sergeant! You hold that position. Don’t let that motherfucker get away from you – over.

Break.

Keep an eye out for the other two missing crew members as well. We don’t need to be walking into anything unexpected. Let us know if there’s anything we should know. We’re coming. ETA, Ten minutes…max.

Sir,

We’re down in the cargo bay. It’s a mess down here, sir. The entire search party is stuck to the walls, sir. They’re all cocooned, or whatever the fuck it’s called. I’m telling you, sir. We need to get the fuck off this ship!

Sergeant Angleton just walked in, he seems fine, he volunteered to join our party. The more the merrier, I guess. Just for accountability, sir. He’s with me now. We’re sealing off this deck, sir, then heading back up to the passenger deck and sealing off that one. Maybe if we seal off both decks, it won’t be an issue anymore. I guess we’ll see. I hope I’m right.

I have to say, sir. I don’t like the way this is whole thing is turning.

Reynolds out.
